Safe, Effective & Efficient Dentistry
Many dentists who treat only children believe they don’t need to use the most advanced technology and techniques available, but that’s just not how we do things here at Kalmor Dental. Dr. Matthew Coplin makes sure that our facility is always on the cutting-edge of dentistry so our young patients can enjoy care that is consistently fast, precise, and comfortable. Read on below to learn more about some of the excellent tools we’ll use to serve your child’s smile.
Sedation Dentistry/General Anesthesia
Some children are very nervous about going to the dentist, and others are completely terrified. In any case, we’re able to ensure that everyone who comes to Kalmor Dental has a smooth and stress-free dental experience thanks to sedation dentistry. With it, we can calm a nervous mind and keep a child protected from pain at the same time.
With this tool, you and your child will finally be able to see their mouth from a dentist’s point of view. This small, pen-sized camera can be easily maneuvered through the mouth to capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums. They can then be displayed on a large chairside monitor, which will help our team as well as you and your child get a much closer look at their smile. This will help you both gain a new level of understanding about their dental health, plus these images will make it much easier for us to show you why they might need a specific treatment.
Dentists around the world use X-rays every day to identify problems that are hidden from the naked eye, and to make this tool even better, we’ve gone completely digital. With digital X-rays, we can create crystal clear images in a matter of seconds, and they even emit up to 80% LESS radiation compare to a traditional dental X-ray. The images can even be displayed on a nearby monitor for you and your child to go over with their dentist.
Cavity Detection System
When it comes to child’s dental care, finding and treating tooth decay is one of the most important things we do every day. Thanks to our cavity detection system, this is now easier than ever. This device uses a beam of light to scan the enamel that can detect even the smallest signs of decay, ones that would normally be missed by a traditional exam. With this knowledge, our team can quickly intervene and treat a tooth to prevent a cavity before it even starts.
