New Patient Information

Welcome to Kalmor Dental! We’re always happy to accept new patients to our practice, so whether you have an infant, toddler, or teenager at home, we’re ready and able to take care of their smile! If you’re thinking about coming to see us for the first time, please take a moment to read through the helpful information below so you can know exactly what to expect. If you have any questions afterward, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We can’t wait to meet you and give your child plenty of reasons to smile!

Your Child’s First Visit

Dr. Coplin, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends that a child should have their first dental appointment around the time of their first birthday. We work very hard to make a child’s first dental experience as positive and enjoyable as possible. We want your child to be comfortable from the moment they step through our doors so they never have a reason to dread their appointments. When the first visit goes well, we find that the others that follow tend to be a breeze for everyone involved!

Their first appointment will consist of a brief evaluation and cleaning given by one of our team members, and then Dr. Coplin will perform a more thorough oral exam. He’ll then discuss any treatments your child might need, talk about their habits at home, provide a fluoride treatment, and then answer any questions you and your child might have. After that, we’ll give your child a little bouncy ball as a reward for completing their first visit.
